Werkon is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. It covers visitors to this website and people who contact us about a possible systems audit, software build, AI system, automation, or integration.
This policy covers the website and pre-engagement conversations. If you become a client, the relevant proposal or service agreement and, where needed, a data processing agreement will explain how project and client data is handled.

Data we collect
Information you send us. The enquiry form asks for your name, work email, company, and a description of the workflow you want to improve. You may also provide your role, friction signals, systems involved, a useful outcome, and information included in later correspondence.
Technical information. When you request a page, the providers that host, deliver, and protect the site may process an IP address, request time, requested URL, referring page, browser or device information, and security events. The Werkon site code does not create visitor accounts or include a first-party behavioural analytics system.
Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, the site stores that choice in your browser's local storage under the key watermelon-ui-theme. It is used only to restore your visual preference.

We use personal data only for the purposes below. The lawful basis may vary by jurisdiction, but for UK and European data protection purposes we rely on the following bases where they apply.

Werkon's service providers may process data in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data protection laws.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we take reasonable steps to use a recognised transfer mechanism, an adequacy decision, or another lawful basis. Contact us if you need more information about a transfer relevant to your data.
How long we keep data
If an enquiry does not become an engagement, we normally keep the enquiry and related correspondence for no longer than 24 months after the last meaningful contact. We may delete it sooner when it is no longer useful, or keep limited records longer where reasonably needed for security, legal obligations, or legal claims.
If an engagement begins, relevant information becomes part of the client record and is retained under the client agreement and applicable business, tax, and legal requirements. Hosting, security, email, and form-delivery providers keep technical records according to their own retention schedules.
Your theme preference remains in local storage until you change it, clear the site's stored data, or reset your browser.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live and the reason we process your data, you may have the right to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction of use, or a portable copy of your personal data. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
To make a request, email hello@werkon.ai. We may need to verify your identity and clarify the request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work, or where you believe a violation occurred. We would appreciate the chance to address the concern first, but contacting us is not a requirement before you approach an authority.
Security and data minimisation
We aim to collect only the information needed to understand and respond to an enquiry. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the data and the website.
No website, email system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Use the enquiry form only for early-stage business context and wait for an agreed secure channel before sharing material that needs stronger protection.
Children
This is a business-to-business website and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly ask children for personal data. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Policy updates and contact
